Radiation Tokyo WaterMore than 250 km away from the nuclear disaster in Fukushima, the tap water in Tokyo has more than twice the legal limits of radiation. Infants are being told to not drink the water. I guess if you’re a child or adult – go right ahead.

But, even though the level is more than twice the 100 becquerels per litre experts say is safe for infants to consume, older children and adults are being told they have no reason to fear water from their taps.

“Even if you drink this water for one year, it will not affect people’s health,” Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano told reporters.

Let’s see – don’t drink it, but it’s safe. Right. So far the water is now contaminated, some vegetables and milk. How closer are we to Tokyo becoming a ghost town?
